Nor'easter - Snowmageddon 2022

Good Morning!

Today is January 29th.  It is 7 AM.  We are supposed to get a Nor'easter today.  If God wills that the power should stay on, I will update this post throughout the day.

7:00 AM

The snowflakes have just started falling, the wind is picking up.  We are supposed to get anywhere from 12 to 18 inches.  It could be worse, but they usually overstate these things.  We won't know til tomorrow morning.

8:00 AM

I hope power stays on.  If it doesn't, we'll be fucked as no power means no heat.  I use Natural Gas to heat my home, the furnace requires a power supply to know when to kick on.  

9:00 AM

It is supposed to really pick up this afternoon, but it's coming down pretty good now.  It's light and fluffy and blowing around.  Woo Hoo!!!

The Book of Proverbs - Chapter 1 - Personal Bible Study

So recently I started reading the book of Proverbs in the Bible.  A quick reading through the first few chapters showed me that I need to spend a lot more time actually studying this book if I want to even begin to understand it.  So much of it just flew over my head so quickly.  There is a lot there to digest.  There is a lot there to consider in light of ancient times vs. my own understanding of the world as it is today. Pope Francis' solemn consecration of Russia and Ukraine to Immaculate Heart of Mary

Yesterday, March 25, 2022, Pope Fransis Consecrated Russia, and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.   I spent some time looking for this in the news this morning, there wasn't much about it.  I had to dig deep.  There was a ton about the blood and guts horror that is going on in Ukraine but nothing about this.  I didn't find anything on the major news outlets until I searched.  Nothing in my feeds.  I figured it would at least make the headlines, being such a large and important event.   Catholics all over the world participated.  Most Catholic Bishops participated.  I participated. It was nice.  I went to my church, the Bishop came and led the prayers of Consecration, the Rosery and the Angelus prayer.   A lot of people showed up here in Portland Maine, to pray for an end to the war in Ukraine and to pray that it doesn't escelate into World War 3. I guess this isn't important enough to make it a major headline.  At least it shows where our priorities are.
