The Halftime Show Drama

I am just a poor lost soul who is trying to navigate my way around a crazy world.  It gets pathetically stupid at times and today is no exception.  I want to take a moment to point out the kind of crazy shit that this crazy world throws at us and forces me to live with.  And to do that, I will use the example of this year's Superbowl Half Time show.


I personally thought that this year's Half Time show was one of the best (musically speaking) that they've had in a long time.  I'm not really into Hip Hop or anything but you do have to give credit where credit is due, and this year we got a show with some of the best of all time at what they do.  Every performer absolutely killed it.  It was a top-notch performance.  

Then comes the top performers of the Crazy World Show throwing shit at it.  The first one I saw was that somebody got offended because Eminem took a knee after his part of the show.  Then Rudy Giuliani gets into it,  Rudy Giuliani says that he should leave the USA for making a political statement that he didn't agree with.  

Then I saw that the New York Police Union called for a boycott of Snoop Dogg over some of his lyrics.  

I'm sorry, but we have better things to do?  What is all of this going to accomplish but distracting us from what really matters?  



The problem is that a lot of the people who are in the public spotlight are idiots, and we have to listen to them because the Mainstream Media (MSM) constantly throws this shit in our faces.  It's like, "This is what we are supposed to be pissed off about today" and so many of you fall for it.

Thank God I was just able to enjoy the show without getting all politically dramatic.

The Book of Proverbs - Chapter 1 - Personal Bible Study

So recently I started reading the book of Proverbs in the Bible.  A quick reading through the first few chapters showed me that I need to spend a lot more time actually studying this book if I want to even begin to understand it.  So much of it just flew over my head so quickly.  There is a lot there to digest.  There is a lot there to consider in light of ancient times vs. my own understanding of the world as it is today. Pope Francis' solemn consecration of Russia and Ukraine to Immaculate Heart of Mary

Yesterday, March 25, 2022, Pope Fransis Consecrated Russia, and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.   I spent some time looking for this in the news this morning, there wasn't much about it.  I had to dig deep.  There was a ton about the blood and guts horror that is going on in Ukraine but nothing about this.  I didn't find anything on the major news outlets until I searched.  Nothing in my feeds.  I figured it would at least make the headlines, being such a large and important event.   Catholics all over the world participated.  Most Catholic Bishops participated.  I participated. It was nice.  I went to my church, the Bishop came and led the prayers of Consecration, the Rosery and the Angelus prayer.   A lot of people showed up here in Portland Maine, to pray for an end to the war in Ukraine and to pray that it doesn't escelate into World War 3. I guess this isn't important enough to make it a major headline.  At least it shows where our priorities are.
