The side street racetrack

I live on a side street.
My side street is often used by drivers to avoid the traffic lights on Washington Avenue here in Portland.  Because of that, we have a lot of people flying down the road like their ass was on fire.
I get it.  The lights in this town suck.  I could go on for hours about it. It can take you half an hour to get a quarter of a mile. But that doesn't mean you come down my street driving irradically.  Yet people do everyday.  They ignore the posted speed limit. They ignore the flashing school 🏫 zone lights.  They ignore the fact that only one car can fit through in some places at a time because people are parked on the side of the road.
This morning somebody in a Chevy Suburban went flying past another car who wasn't driving fast enough.  The guy had to jerk back to the right to avoid hitting a parked car.
What a shit show.
